Kscope’19 – Day 1 Part II

Are you still with me? I’m overwhelmed with the content, it’s too much to process and it is only Day 1!!!!

If you didn’t get a chance to read about Analytics Symposium please do that.

Fasten your seat belts, we are going on a ride with Matt Bradley to find out what’s in store for EPM.

Before I begin, here is something I want you to know. “Nothing is written in stone.” It can be erased if Oracle wants to.

Safe harbor rules!!!

The following is intended to outline our general product direction. It is intended for information purposes only, and may not be incorporated into any contract. It is not a commitment to deliver any material, code, or functionality, and should not be relied upon in making purchasing decisions. The development, release, and timing of any features or functionality described for Oracleโ€™s products remain at the sole discretion of Oracle.

Now that the safe harbor is out of the way, EPM Standard/Enterprise Cloud (That’s the new name if you didn’t know) is growing.

You might have already seen this model. If you’ve not seen it here is the pricing model for you.

All the acronyms are gone (or at least the cloud service tail is gone). There is a new pricing model that got introduced, an employee type pricing.

If you are a big company, then you can purchase the license based on employees (keep in mind minimum is 5000).

We saw what the future beholds.

Hybrid is already here!! REST Integration is here!!!

Connected is the new buzz word in town.

PCM – everything that you know and love about it is coming (or is it here already??)

You can create dashboards, infolets all coming to PCM. Oracle is aligning this more towards IT finance management. (I believe that’s what I heard)

I did enjoy how Matt Bradley described this FCC is a Tesla and HFM is a BMW. They are different, both are cars however how you do somethings are done in a different way!!!

ARM

Tax with Financial Reporting

On-Premises, hey you guys are not left, don’t feel that way ๐Ÿ™‚

11.2 is coming and coming fast, it’ll be released in September (3 months)

EPMA finally rests in peace ๐Ÿ™ Are you really sad that is not part of 11.2. If you are then you are in for a treat ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now that EPMA is gone, what is the way forward, here comes DRM – restricted use.

Let’s see a demo, shall we?

That’s more elegant than EPMA, won’t you agree?

I told you, you are in for a treat.

Think about it in this way, who was using those modules without single customization!!

BI+ those were long gone OBIEE took over if you didn’t know this. (I’m sure you knew this was coming)

Here is a recap for on-premises

This is a long post, will talk about Cloud again in the next part. Be seeing you.
